Dried Comfrey Leaf

$3.50

The plant contains allantoin, a compound that promotes cell growth and tissue repair, along with mucilage and tannins. Dried comfrey leaves or root are often infused in oils, made into salves, ointments, or poultices to create your own. It's traditionally used for minor wounds, bruises, sprains, and joint pain (“knitbone” is a nickname because it was believed to help heal bones) Some herbalists use dried comfrey in warm compresses or baths for soothing skin and muscles. Not recommended for internal consumption due to potentially toxic compounds (pyrrolizidine alkaloids) that can cause liver damage over longer periods of time.

Grown locally on our homestead free of pesticides and chemicals.

Priced per 1 oz.
